The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has imposed a hefty fine on Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) for causing power outages and financial losses. NEPRA announced the penalty as part of its strict action against electricity companies violating regulations.

According to the NEPRA decision, HESCO will have to pay a daily fine of one lakh rupees starting from April 4, 2024. The fine was imposed due to the company's load shedding practices that caused significant losses and inconvenience to consumers.
