ISLAMABAD: Yemen's Houthis have released a foreign LPG tanker and its 27-member crew, including 24 Pakistanis, after holding them since mid-September, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Saturday.

In a statement shared on X, Naqvi said the tanker, commanded by Captain Mukhtar Akbar, came under attack from an Israeli drone on September 17 while docked at Ras al-Esa port, a Houthi-controlled area. The strike caused one LPG tank to explode, but the crew managed to put out the fire before Houthi boats intercepted the vessel and held its crew hostage aboard.
