KARACHI, Jan. 27 -- The search operation at Gul Plaza, site of Karachi's deadly shopping centre fire, concluded on Tuesday after 10 days of rescue and relief efforts. The scorched building has now been sealed, authorities said.

Experts from the Lahore Forensic Laboratory and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) will inspect the structure, a process expected to take more than a week, according to the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA). The building had already been declared unsafe and dilapidated prior to the inspection. The forensic team will also investigate the cause of the fire.
