ISLAMABAD, Oct. 2 -- Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to review the dengue situation in the capital and other affected areas amid a recent surge in cases following heavy rains.

Officials briefed the meeting on case numbers, hotspots, and ongoing control measures. The minister directed hospitals to allocate dedicated wards for dengue patients and ensure uninterrupted availability of medicines, beds, and diagnostic facilities.

He emphasized the need to strengthen prevention campaigns, particularly in high-risk zones such as Bhara Kahu, through intensified spraying, surveillance, sanitation drives, and public awareness efforts.
