Pakistan, June 17 -- Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has expressed the government's willingness to consult journalist bodies on the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). He said the government aims to clear misunderstandings between the ministry and media professionals regarding the law.
During a meeting with a delegation from the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), Tarar discussed key matters including the PECA Act, the elimination of dummy newspapers, pending payments to print media, and the role of the Journalists Protection Commission.
