In a bold move to improve tax compliance, the federal government has announced new restrictions on high-value purchases and financial activities for individuals who under-declare their income. The policy aims to push non-filers and low-declarants into the tax net by linking lifestyle spending with tax records.

According to an official statement released Monday, individuals who fail to declare adequate income will be barred from buying luxury cars priced over Rs7 million, residential properties worth more than Rs50 million, and commercial plots exceeding Rs100 million.
