Pakistan, Dec. 31 -- Government employees across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took to the streets on Tuesday to demand the restoration of the old pension system, along with a 30 per cent increase in disparity reduction allowance (DRA) and upgradation of posts. Demonstrations were held in Peshawar and several other districts of the province.
In the provincial capital, employees gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club under the banners of the All Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGEGA) and the All Government Employees Coordination Council. Protesters said more than 600,000 government employees were being subjected to what they termed economic exploitation.
