Pakistan, Aug. 8 -- The federal government has increased the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) allocation from Rs 460 billion to Rs 716 billion over two years to help vulnerable families cope with rising inflation. This move reflects the government's commitment to social protection and economic support.
Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani announced the increase while answering questions in the National Assembly. He emphasized that nearly 10 million families now benefit from BISP, with payments directed mainly to women to promote empowerment and ensure aid reaches the right households.
