Pakistan, Jan. 12 -- Google has removed AI-assisted Overviews for certain health-related search queries following an investigation that found summaries could mislead users by omitting key factors such as age, sex, ethnicity, and nationality. Consequently, users seeking medical information may no longer see AI summaries for specific queries, reducing the risk of misinterpretation.
The investigation highlighted that searches like "what is the normal range for liver blood tests" and "liver function test ranges" previously generated AI Overviews that failed to provide context-specific guidance. Variations of similar queries, such as "LFT reference range," still display AI summaries, revealing a partial rather than total removal.
