Pakistan, July 28 -- GENEVA - The World Health Organization (WHO) has raised a red flag over the rapidly worsening malnutrition crisis in Gaza, calling it "alarming" and entirely preventable. In a statement released Sunday, the WHO blamed the deliberate blocking and delay of essential aid as the primary reason for the growing number of malnutrition-related deaths.

According to WHO, 74 people have died from malnutrition so far in 2025, with 63 of those deaths occurring in July alone. This includes 24 children under five, one child over five, and 38 adults. Many were declared dead on arrival or died shortly after reaching medical facilities, showing signs of severe wasting.
