Sri Lanka, Feb. 13 -- Veteran leftist politician and former minister Professor Tissa Vitharana has passed away at the age of 92, family sources confirmed.

It is reported that he died this morning (13) at his residence in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte after a period of illness.

A senior figure in Sri Lanka's leftist political movement, Prof. Vitharana served the country in several key roles, including as a Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister, and Governor.Sri Lanka travel
