Flour prices across Pakistan have surged sharply in recent weeks as floods and heavy rains devastated crops, pushing the cost of a 20-kilogram bag to record-breaking levels, sparking public concern nationwide.
According to official market data, residents of Bannu suffered the steepest increase, where prices jumped by Rs1,050 in only three weeks, driving the retail price to an unprecedented Rs2,500 per bag.
Peshawar and Larkana followed closely, where rates surged by Rs900, while Bahawalpur witnessed a jump of Rs866. Other cities, including Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala, and Sialkot, also recorded significant hikes exceeding Rs800.
