Pakistan, July 17 -- The Flood Forecasting Division has issued a high-level flood warning for the Jhelum River, predicting severe flooding within the next 24 hours. Water inflow at Mangla Dam is expected to reach between 350,000 and 450,000 cusecs, raising concerns of widespread flooding in surrounding areas.

Experts warn that heavy rainfall and increased water inflow will cause nearby drains and nullahs to overflow, leading to rising water levels in residential areas. Over 40 villagers have already been stranded as floodwaters entered their homes. Rescue efforts by the army and helicopters have been launched to assist those trapped by the rising waters.
