Pakistan, July 23 -- At least five tourists lost their lives and 15 remain missing after powerful flash floods hit the Thak Babusar region in Gilgit-Baltistan. Triggered by continuous heavy rain, the floods swept away eight tourist vehicles and blocked major roads, creating chaos across the affected area. Rescue teams are working day and night to find the missing individuals, but poor weather and difficult terrain are slowing progress.
According to the Gilgit-Baltistan government spokesperson, the Thak-Babusar route was the worst affected, with floodwaters damaging roads and cutting off access to villages.
