Though it marked the end of a recent streak of record-breaking months, experts warn that climate change remains a growing threat. Heatwaves, floods, wildfires, and droughts have all intensified, leaving no continent untouched.
From deadly floods in Pakistan and China to raging wildfires in Canada, Greece, and Scotland, the impact of rising temperatures was felt worldwide. Several Asian and Scandinavian countries reported their hottest July in at least 50 years, showing how widespread and alarming the warming trend has become. Meanwhile, over 1,000 heat-related deaths were reported in Spain alone.
