GENEVA, June 21 -- European leaders urged Iran to keep diplomatic channels open with the United States to resolve tensions over its nuclear programme. The call came amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets.

After meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Geneva, the foreign ministers of Germany, France, Britain, and the EU said Iran showed willingness to continue discussions. "The Iranian side is ready to further discuss all important questions," said German FM Johann Wadephul.
