Pakistan, Jan. 27 -- The European Union (EU) has opened an investigation into Elon Musk's social media platform X over its AI chatbot, Grok. The probe follows reports that Grok generated sexualised deepfake images of women and minors using simple text prompts. EU officials warned that such digital abuse of women and children will not be tolerated.
European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said the EU would not "hand over consent and child protection to tech companies to violate and monetise." EU tech commissioner Henna Virkkunen added the investigation will check whether X complied with the Digital Services Act (DSA), which regulates online platforms in Europe.
