Pakistan, Jan. 22 -- Punjab has inaugurated Pakistan's first Green Policing Unit, introducing electric patrol vehicles for police operations. The initiative aims to cut fuel costs and reduce carbon emissions. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif personally drove one of the new vehicles during the ceremony.

Officials said the modern BYD electric vehicles will be used for routine patrolling and traffic management in Lahore. Each vehicle has a driving range of 410 kilometres on a single charge. They can also fast-charge from 30 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.
