Egypt has signed four major agreements worth more than $340 million with leading international energy firms to explore oil and gas in the Mediterranean and Nile Delta regions.
The deals, signed through the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), include plans to drill 10 wells, reinforcing government efforts to expand exploration and boost energy production capacity.
Officials highlighted that Egypt, once a key regional exporter, now relies increasingly on imports due to rising demand and falling output from older fields, making new investments critical for energy security.
