Pakistan, Aug. 4 -- A volcano in Russia's far eastern Kamchatka region has erupted for the first time in 450 years, marking a rare geological event. The eruption occurred just days after the region experienced one of its strongest recorded earthquakes. The Krasheninnikov volcano, which last erupted in 1550, sent a massive column of ash into the sky, capturing attention across the country.
Photos from the scene show a thick ash plume rising to an estimated height of 6,000 meters (approximately 19,700 feet). The ash is currently moving eastward, drifting toward the Pacific Ocean. Fortunately, officials confirmed that no towns or villages lie in its path, and no reports of ashfall have been recorded in nearby populated areas so far.
