Pakistan, Jan. 23 -- The death toll from Karachi's deadly Gul Plaza inferno has climbed to 71. Rescuers recovered more remains on Friday. Officials said search operations are now in final stages.

Authorities confirmed that victim identification is underway using DNA testing. So far, 16 bodies have been identified, including nine through DNA matches. Meanwhile, 49 samples were collected for further verification.
