Pakistan, Jan. 24 -- PESHAWAR - At least nine people, including seven children, have died in rain- and snow-related accidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials said. The incidents occurred in multiple districts, including Chitral, Malakand, Shangla, and Khyber, as severe weather continued since January 22. Authorities reported one child also remains injured.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) KP said the deaths resulted from avalanches, landslides, roof collapses, and accidents caused by heavy rain and snowfall. Five houses were partially damaged, and blocked highways in most areas have since reopened.
