Pakistan, Oct. 19 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has hailed the recently reached ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan as a "positive and important step" toward lasting peace in the region. The truce, mediated by Qatar and Turkiye after 13 hours of intensive negotiations in Doha, aims to de-escalate tensions following weeks of cross-border hostilities that strained relations between the two neighboring countries. Dar emphasized that the agreement reflects both sides' willingness to move from confrontation to cooperation.
