Pakistan, Oct. 8 -- Pakistan's top military leadership on Wednesday issued a strong warning to India, promising a "swift and decisive" response to any misadventure or escalation. The remarks came during the 272nd Corps Commanders' Conference, chaired by Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at GHQ in Rawalpindi.

The army expressed concern over what it called "irresponsible and provocative" statements from Indian leaders. It warned that any efforts to create an "imaginary new normal" would be met with an equally firm "new normal" - swift retribution. The forum stressed that stirring war hysteria for political gain could endanger peace in the region.
