Pakistan, June 23 -- KARACHI - Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced on Monday that Rs254 billion have been allocated for Karachi in the provincial budget, stressing that the amount may increase but will not be reduced under any circumstances.

Speaking at the Sindh Assembly session, Murad Ali Shah defended the budget and responded to opposition criticism. He said, "We've set aside Rs254 billion for Karachi - if needed, we'll increase it, but not a single rupee will be cut."

He also addressed the topic of salaries and minimum wage, noting that the Assembly Speaker earns the highest salary in the house, which is still just 10% of a judge's pay. He proposed that the minimum salary should be Rs42,000, with a final decision expected ...
