Pakistan, May 19 -- China has once again called on Pakistan and India to exercise restraint and avoid escalating tensions following recent military clashes. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson reiterated China's position on the ongoing Pakistan-India standoff, stating that Beijing desires to maintain communication with both nations and supports efforts toward long-term peace and ceasefire.

The call for calm comes as Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Beijing on a three-day official visit.
