China has ordered schools and businesses to shut in 10 cities ahead of Super Typhoon Ragasa. Authorities warned of severe wind, rain, waves, and floods. Millions of people are affected across the country's south. Factories in the manufacturing heartland will also close.

Shenzhen, China's tech hub, evacuated 400,000 residents as Ragasa approached. Emergency management officials urged citizens to stay indoors except for essential work. Other Guangdong cities including Chaozhou, Zhuhai, Dongguan, and Foshan implemented similar measures.
