Pakistan, Feb. 8 -- China has unveiled the world's largest electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, named Matrix, marking a major leap in aviation as the country pushes hard to lead the fast-growing low-altitude economy.

Developed by Chinese aviation startup AutoFlight, the five-tonne aircraft is backed by battery giant CATL and reflects China's ambition to dominate flying cars and next-generation electric air transport.

The Matrix features a 20-meter wingspan and comes in passenger and logistics variants, carrying up to ten people, which significantly exceeds the capacity of most existing eVTOL aircraft worldwide.
