Pakistan, Oct. 16 -- China has voiced support for the 48-hour ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Chinese Foreign Ministry urged both countries to exercise restraint and work toward lasting peace. The statement came after Islamabad and Kabul agreed to a short-term truce aimed at reducing tensions along their border.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said China encourages both sides to maintain calm and avoid further escalation. He emphasized that regional stability benefits all neighboring countries. According to him, dialogue and cooperation are essential for resolving disputes peacefully.
