Pakistan, Oct. 20 -- China has welcomed the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed hope that the two neighbors will continue peaceful talks. Spokesperson Guo Jiakun praised the countries for choosing dialogue over conflict. He said both nations are traditional friends of China and cannot be separated by geography or history.
The ceasefire was brokered by Qatar and Turkiye, according to a statement by Qatar's Foreign Ministry. Both Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to stop hostilities immediately.
