Pakistan, April 8 -- The United States has opted for a strategic trade policy over free trade by prioritizing security, industrial, and economic policy over market liberalization. President Trump initiated this policy in 2017 by imposing tariffs on steel, aluminum, and Chinese imports, aiming to protect domestic industries and correct the trade imbalances. Now, extending the state-driven trade strategy, the US has imposed reciprocal tariffs on goods from several countries, including Pakistan.
