Pakistan, June 17 -- A blue whale measuring about 35 feet was found dead near Kuntani in Gwatar Bay, located between Pakistan and Iran, on Monday. The discovery was reported by a local fisherman, Ahmad Baloch, who spotted the whale floating in the area.
According to WWF-Pakistan, the whale likely died several days ago in open sea waters and drifted toward Gwatar Bay due to strong sea currents and rough weather. Although the exact cause of death is unclear, entanglement in fishing nets may be a possible reason.
