MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) clarified its stance on playing Pakistan in the Asia Cup. The explanation came after questions arose regarding India's participation in the tournament. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said the board follows the central government's policy in such matters.

He added that India's current policy does not restrict the national team from participating in any international or multi-nation tournaments. "The government has not imposed a ban on playing against countries with which India does not have friendly ties," Saikia said.
