Pakistan, Feb. 4 -- Today marks nine years since the passing of celebrated Pakistani literary icon Bano Qudsia, whose novels, plays, and radio scripts left a lasting mark on Urdu literature and culture.

Born on November 28, 1928 in Ferozepur, India, she migrated to Pakistan after partition and developed a passion for writing early, beginning her journey with short stories while in class five.

Qudsia graduated from Kinnaird College in Lahore and earned a master's degree in Urdu from Government College, Lahore in 1951, establishing a strong foundation for her prolific writing career that spanned decades.
