Pakistan, July 22 -- At least 27 people lost their lives after a Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed into a school and college campus in Dhaka on Monday afternoon. The F-7 BGI aircraft took off from the Kurmitola airbase at 1:06 PM for a routine training mission but crashed shortly after takeoff due to a reported mechanical failure. The crash caused massive fires and chaos in the crowded area.

According to Sayedur Rahman, special assistant to the chief health adviser, 88 people, including students and staff, are being treated in hospitals for severe burn injuries. Many of the injured are in critical condition, and doctors are working round the clock. The pilot of the jet was among those who died in the tragic accident.
