Pakistan, July 3 -- QUETTA - Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced a new transport initiative for Quetta's residents, promising the launch of the "People's Train" to provide affordable and comfortable travel across the city.

The train service will run throughout the day from Kuchlak to Sheikh Zayed Hospital, making daily commutes easier for locals. CM Bugti called it a "big relief" for the people of Quetta and a step toward better urban connectivity.

This announcement comes years after a similar project was scrapped. In 2017, a mass transit train system was proposed under the former Balochistan government with Chinese cooperation. However, due to its high cost of Rs. 25 billion, the project was dropped in 2020.
