Skardu, July 28 -- After being closed for a week due to severe flooding, the Babusar-Naran Highway has reopened for one-way traffic. The Gilgit-Baltistan government, however, urges travelers to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel on this still-sensitive route.

Faizullah Firaq, spokesperson for the Gilgit-Baltistan government, confirmed the reopening and said rescue teams have intensified search operations along the highway. Around 15 tourists, including a female TV anchor and her family, remain missing after being swept away by powerful floodwaters near Babusar Pass.
