Pakistan, July 24 -- An audit has revealed that the National Assembly Secretariat issued travel vouchers worth Rs1.16 billion to MNAs from 2021 to 2024. However, there is a Rs161 million gap between the vouchers issued and the reported spending. The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) pointed out that the actual expenses on these vouchers were not properly reconciled with official financial records.
The AGP report stated that the National Assembly reported Rs1 billion in travel voucher reimbursements, but failed to match it with figures from the State Bank of Pakistan and the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR).
