Pakistan, Aug. 7 -- For the 27th consecutive year, the Pakistan Army and Houbara Foundation International Pakistan carried out an aerial seed dispersal campaign in the Cholistan Desert to revive desert vegetation. The annual initiative aims to restore plant life in harsh desert areas and support the declining populations of native birds and animals.

Launched in 1998, this seed-spraying campaign was introduced as a long-term response to rapid environmental degradation in the Cholistan Desert. The region serves as a critical winter habitat for birds like the houbara bustard and many other wildlife species. Experts believe preserving natural vegetation here is vital to maintaining biodiversity.
