Pakistan, July 16 -- Rovaniemi, a city located on the Arctic Circle in northern Finland, has experienced unusually high temperatures, reaching up to 30degC during an intense summer heatwave. Locals rushed to nearby beaches to escape the heat, as temperatures soared across the country.

According to the Finnish Meteorological Centre, Rovaniemi recorded 29.2degC on Tuesday, while the thermometer in Santa Claus Village showed a full 30degC. This level of heat is highly unusual for the region, where summer temperatures typically hover around 20degC.
