Pakistan, Feb. 11 -- Angelina Jolie has shared her pride in her mastectomy scars, saying they symbolize the life she carries. The Oscar-winning actress underwent a preventative double mastectomy in 2013 after testing positive for the BRCA1 gene. Jolie explained the scars remind her of the proactive choices she made for her children and health.

In a recent French Inter interview, Jolie said she has always valued the stories scars tell over a flawless appearance. "I see my scars as a choice I made to stay here as long as I could with my children," she said. The mother-of-six added that scars represent life experiences and meaningful sacrifices.
