Muhammad Mohsin Zaryab and many others are struggling to find affordable homes amid rapidly rising rents. The city's growing population faces extreme challenges in securing shelter.
Over 2.1 million Afghans have returned to Kabul this year after being forced out or fearing arrest in neighboring countries. Many arrived with only a few belongings, hoping to find better job opportunities in the expanding city of eight million. However, economic hardships and poverty affect half the population, making life difficult.
