Pakistan, June 26 -- German police shot and killed a 27-year-old Afghan man after he attacked officers with a knife during an attempted arrest in the southern city of Wangen. One police officer was seriously injured in the attack but is now in stable condition, according to authorities.

The incident occurred when two officers visited the man's residence to take him into custody to serve a prison sentence related to a previous assault case. As the officers attempted to carry out the arrest, the man suddenly attacked them with a knife, prompting them to open fire in self-defense.
