Pakistan, June 18 -- In the heart of Kabul lies a little-known place of reflection and history - the British Cemetery - now almost forgotten as foreign presence in Afghanistan has dwindled since 2021. For nearly two centuries, this small plot of land has served as the final resting place for foreign soldiers, explorers, and citizens who once called Afghanistan home.
Aynullah Rahimi, whose family has looked after the cemetery for decades, continues to tend to its peaceful garden, surrounded by roses, apricot trees, and quiet partridges.
