Pakistan, June 21 -- Larry Ellison, 80, has become the second richest person in the world after earning $40 billion in just one week. He now has a net worth of $250.9 billion, overtaking tech giants Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg.

According to Fortune Magazine, Ellison co-founded the tech company Oracle, and owns 41% of its shares. A huge rise in Oracle's stock, driven by success in cloud computing, boosted his wealth in a short time.

In one day alone, his fortune jumped by $25 billion. A few days later, it rose another $16 billion. This extraordinary growth placed him just behind Elon Musk, who remains the richest with $405.8 billion.
