Strong tremors were felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, and several other cities across Pakistan on Tuesday, causing panic among residents. The earthquake struck in the afternoon, prompting people to rush out of homes and offices.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 5.4 in magnitude. Its epicenter was located in southeastern Afghanistan, close to the Pakistan border. The quake's depth was recorded at 22 kilometers, which explains why it was felt widely.
So far, no major damage or casualties have been reported in Pakistan. However, authorities are monitoring the situation and have urged citizens to stay alert and follow safety guidelines during aftershocks.
