Pakistan, Aug. 1 -- Torrential rains and flash floods have claimed the lives of 291 people - including 138 children - across Pakistan's vulnerable regions, while 698 individuals have been reported injured, according to the latest data released by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The dead include 138 children, 51 women, and 102 men, while 698 others sustained injuries. Punjab was the worst affected, recording 158 deaths - among them, 69 children, 27 women, and 62 men. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 66 lives were lost, including 36 children, 12 women, and 18 men. Sindh reported 28 fatalities, comprising 14 children, four women, and 10 men.
