ZANZIBAR, Aug. 30 -- THE Zanzibar Electoral Commission (ZEC) has called on political parties to ensure that their candidates for the presidency, House of Representatives and council positions collect, complete and return nomination forms on time to avoid violating electoral laws.

ZEC Chairperson, Justice George Joseph Kazi made the appeal while opening a stakeholders meeting at the Commissions headquarters at Maisara.

He stressed the importance of correctly filling out the forms, noting that all requirements are stipulated by law.

“Returning officers have already been directed to review forms and guide candidates to correct any omissions before submission deadlines,” he said.
