Dar es Salaam, Feb. 21 -- ZANZIBAR: ZANZIBAR government has issued an early warning regarding the expected long rains (Masika) that are set to start from March to May 2025, urging residents to take necessary precautions to prevent potential disasters.

Citing data from the Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) – Zanzibar Office during the press briefing, Minister of State in the Vice-Presidents Office (Policy, Coordination and House of Representatives), Hamza Hassan Juma revealed that the seasonal rains are expected to begin in the first two weeks of March and conclude by the end of May.
