Dar es Salaam, Feb. 21 -- ZANZIBAR: THE Minister for Tourism and Heritage, Mudrik Ramadhan Soraga has said that foreigners are prohibited from engaging in small-scale jobs that are designated for local citizens.
He highlighted that the government is actively investigating to identify foreign workers in roles meant for locals.
In response to a question from Representative Haji Shaaban Waziri (Uzini Constituency) regarding the governments efforts to address the long-standing issue, Mr Soraga acknowledged concerns about the growing number of foreign workers in sectors such as hotels, street vending, tourism agencies and tour guiding, the professions that offer high wages in foreign currencies.
